Highlights! Paul Delivers Nasty Uppercut KO In The First Round

Jake Paul delivered a massive knockout finish Friday night (Dec. 15, 2023) live on DAZN from inside Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida, when “Problem Child” stopped Andre August with a ridiculous uppercut in the very first round.

This event didn’t have that big fight feel, but it was still an opportunity for Paul to get inside of the ring and throw punches. The social media star said he just wanted more experience as a boxer and it didn’t matter if it came against August. Unfortunately for Paul, he didn’t get too many minutes inside of the ring on Friday night.

August offered very little in the early going and it allowed Paul the chance to land crisp jabs and strong shots to the body. Paul was clearly pulling away, but he didn’t wait for the end of the round before delivering his finishing shot. He connected with a nasty uppercut that sent August crashing to the canvas. The pro boxer came to his feet after a nine count, but clearly couldn’t continue. Paul was awarded with the knockout win.

Paul, who is coming off a decision win over former UFC star Nate Diaz this past August, is now 8-1 as a professional boxer and claims his fifth knockout finish overall. This was one of his most devastating stoppages to date, but August didn’t exactly look ready for the limelight (Ariel Helwani reported August was scared backstage). It will be interesting to see who Paul fights next and if he actually makes his MMA debut in 2024.
