Misfits Boxing gets licenses suspended in the interest of boxer safety

In a time when boxing slowed down and became somewhat stagnant, YouTuber and influencer boxing shined light onto the sport and attracted new eyes to the sweet science.

At the forefront of the recent surge in popularity was the controversial Jake Paul and a man he has been feuding with for years KSI—who went on to create Misfits Boxing. More and more people began to take notice but that could all change after the worrying news surrounding the new promotion.

In a post on social media, the Professional Boxing Association announced that Misfits’ boxing promoters’ licenses would be suspended due to a violation of rules.

“Misfits Boxing: Due to the clear violations of the PBA’s rules and regulations, bringing boxing into disrepute and in the interest of boxer safety, Misfits Boxing Promoters’ licences have been suspended and disciplinary hearings will follow for such licence holders.”

PBA did later release another statement about Misfits. They wished them the best and confirmed that during their time working together, they always kept standards high.

“The PBA have worked with Misfits Boxing for the last 18 months and they have always held high standards when it comes to boxer safety.”

“The PBA have no doubt that these high standards will continue to be implemented,” the Professional Boxing Association said following their split with Misfits. “The PBA wishes Misfits Boxing all the very best in their journey.”

The company is now looking to find an agreement with a new governing body and hopes to continue to build its growing organization.

“The safety and welfare of all fighters who participate in Misfits Boxing events, is, and will always be, the number one priority for the organisation.”

“Misfits Boxing is looking forward to lots of exciting and fresh ideas being implemented in 2024 and, of course, health and safety will continue to be a top priority.”

“Misfits Boxing will be working with a new commission, however, wishes the PBA well for the future.”
