UFC fighters share live reaction to Justin Gaethje’s devastating knockout loss at UFC 300

UFC 300 exceeded all prior expectations, living up to the pressure attached to the card. While the event was packed with memorable moments, there was no bigger ‘holy sh**’ moment than Max Holloway‘s knockout of Justin Gaethje.

Although ‘Blessed’ would have walked away as the clear winner if the fight went to the judges’ scorecards, he still invited Gaethje to slug it out at the end of the final round. With just one second left on the clock, Holloway put his opponent out cold with a vicious right hand.

The MMA world watched in shock as the former featherweight king capped off one of the greatest performances of his career with a statement finish. Israel Adesanya, Sean O’Malley, Tom Aspinall, and those in attendance at UFC 300 were speechless as they watched Justin Gaethje‘s lifeless body hit the canvas.

Paddy Pimblett and Demetrious Johnson both congratulated Max Holloway on rightfully earning the $600k bonus for his showing at UFC 300.

Holloway had already cemented himself as one of the best to ever compete inside the octagon before elevating his name value even higher with his legendary knockout of Justin Gaethje.

Joe Rogan, who was on call for the iconic UFC 300 pay-per-view, has witnessed some of the best moments the sport has ever produced. Despite spending decades in the booth, Rogan believes Holloway’s win on Saturday was the greatest knockout of all time. Check out his reaction, alongside Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik below.

While he wasn’t surprised by the result, Alexander Volkanovski reacted exactly how the majority of the mixed martial arts world did when Max Holloway knocked out Justin Gaethje.

The win not only confirms Max Holloway’s title hopes at featherweight, but he now may have a case to fight for lightweight gold following the title bout between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier at UFC 302.
