Professional Fighters League (PFL) recently signed one of the hottest free agents, Paul Hughes, to a multi-year contract, and now he has a date set for his official debut…though it won’t be on a PFL card.

Via a press release, it was revealed that Hughes will co-headline the upcoming Bellator Dublin event — which is slated for June 22 at 3Arena — against Hawaii native, Bobby King, in a lightweight bout. Fighting out of Belfast, Northern Ireland, booking “Big News” to take part in Bellator’s return to Dublin was a no-brainer.

The former Cage Warriors featherweight champion has racked up an impressive 11-1 record as a pro over the last seven years and is currently riding a five-fight win streak to go along with eight stoppage victories. As for King, he will attempt to play spoiler while snapping his two fight losing streak, coming up short against Gadzhi Rabadanov and Aalon Cruz in consecutive bouts.

Headlining Bellator Dublin will be current welterweight champion, Jason Jackson, defending his belt for the first time against Ramazan Kuramagomedov. In further action, Sinead Kavanagh will battle Arlene Blencowe in a pivotal women’s featherweight fight.
