Tyson, Jones Pass VADA Drug Tests Ahead Of PPV Showdown

It may only be an exhibition match, but Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. are going to try to punch each other in the face tomorrow night (Sat., Nov. 28, 2020) live on FITE PPV from inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

If that doesn’t get your blood boiling maybe THIS will.

While Tyson will be making his first appearance inside of a boxing ring for the first time since 2005 his tilt with Jones Jr. is one of the most anticipated showdowns of 2020. This includes professional boxing, MMA, backyard wrestling, and any other form of combat known to man. It’s a testament to Tyson and his legendary status as one of the most polarizing fighters to ever walk the planet.

Fight fans won’t know what to expect when Tyson and Jones Jr. square off tomorrow night on FITE PPV, but at least both legends will be competing clean. This is according to California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) executive officer Andy Foster, who informed ESPN’s Marc Raimondi earlier this week that Tyson and Jones have both passed VADA drug tests in advance to their fight.

“CSAC executive officer Andy Foster tells me that Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. have completed a drug-testing program administered by VADA before their exhibition Saturday — and both boxing legends have passed. They will be tested again by VADA on fight night.”

Given the ridiculous training videos Tyson has released over the past few months it’s good to know that “Iron Mike” isn’t taking anything special to help his chances against Jones Jr. Tyson has never been linked to performance-enhancing drugs throughout his storied career, but the 54-year-old is far from what he used to be and trying to pull off a mesmerizing return to the spotlight.
