Cory Sandhagen failed to get over the hump for a bantamweight title shot for a second time Saturday when he lost to T.J. Dillashaw in the UFC on ESPN 27 main event.

Sandhagen (14-3 MMA, 7-2 UFC) lost a split decision to returning former champion Dillashaw (17-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC) at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. He had a great argument to get his hand raised, but two of the three judges didn’t see it in his favor.

Despite the setback, Sandhagen was nothing but class in defeat, and vowed to bounce back strong and get himself back conversation to fight for the belt sooner than later.
