Former UFC champion Conor McGregor has donated 30,000 Euro to a young child who is fighting brain cancer. The donation came after a fan shared the link to the girl’s GoFundMe on McGregor’s Twitter. The athlete then donated and replied to the fan.
“Stephen, that is done,” McGregor wrote on Twitter. “God bless this strong little lady and her family, we are with yous all the way. Let’s go!”
The girl, Aaliyah, aged 6, was diagnosed with “A high grade malignant brain tumor, also known as Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) this the most deadliest brain cancer in children,” according to the GoFundMe page. Most children diagnosed with this disease die within six to nine months, the page says.
“Our hearts break for Aaliyah, she is the most amazing little girl, she is so wise beyond her years. The most kindest, beautiful & inspirational child. She is loved by anybody she’s meets and Right now we are living life by the second and showering her with all our love.So we are asking people to please help and donate for when the time comes for this Trial to help Aaliyah. So that we are set up and ready to go. All expenses will be used towards Aaliyahs journey – international travel, trials, alternative supplements and medical expenses & bills. McGregor was named Forbes richest athlete in 2021 with an estimated $180 million earned in one year. He’s often seen buying extravagant gifts for his loved ones, just purchased a mega-yacht and is seen traveling all over the world. He’s also been mixed up with the law including allegations of assault, some of which have been caught on camera.
He is currently recovering from an injury sustained in his January bout with Dustin Poirier.
