‘TUF 27’ winner Brad Katona challenges for Brave CF title in March

“The Ultimate Fighter 27” winner Brad Katona will continue his run under the Brave CF banner in March.

Promotion officials today announced that Katona (10-2) will face Bahrain’s Hamza Kooheji (11-2) at Brave CF 57 on March 11 with the organization’s vacant bantamweight title on the line.

The card, which is expected to feature three title fights, streams live on BraveCFTV.com from Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain.

Katona claimed the “TUF 27” featherweight tourney in 2018 with a decision win over Jay Cucciniello. “Superman” then dropped down to 135 pounds and picked up a decision win over Matthew Lopez. However, his UFC run concluded with back-to-back decision losses to Merab Dvalishvili and and Hunter Azure.

Katona, 30, signed with Brave FC in 2021, winning a pair of fights to earn his shot at the vacant belt.

Meanwhile, Kooheji carries a five-fight winning streak into the matchup. A longtime fixture in the promotion, Kooheji is 8-1 under the Brave CF banner, with the lone loss coming in 2018 to current UFC bantamweight Khalid Taha.
