Bellator 277 weigh-in results: A.J. McKee vs. Patricio Freire rematch, light heavyweight grand prix all set
SAN JOSE, Calif. – MMA Junkie was on scene and reported live from Thursday’s official Bellator 277 fighter weigh-ins.
The weigh-ins took place at the Bellator host hotel in San Jose, Calif. The nearby SAP Center hosts Friday’s event, which has a main card on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.
Among those who weighed in were featherweight champion A.J. McKee (18-0 MMA, 18-0 BMMA) and former champ Patricio Freire (32-5 MMA, 20-5 BMMA), who meet in a rematch of their July 2021 bout.
McKee was the first of all fighters to weigh in, and came in under the championship limit with a loud roar. Freire weighed in, in the middle of the Bellator 277 pack, but also came in lighter than necessary.
Light heavyweight champ Vadim Nemkov (15-2 MMA, 7-0 BMMA) and Corey Anderson (16-5 MMA, 3-0 BMMA), who fight for the title in the 205-pound grand prix final, also hit their marks with seemingly-relative ease. Nemkov came in light, shortly before Anderson hit 205 pounds on the nose.
All 28 fighters scheduled to compete Friday made weight in under 45 minutes.
