Manon Fiorot gets wish, meets Katlyn Chookagian at UFC Paris

Manon Fiorot could emerge as the next title challenger if she can get past a perennial contender.

Fiorot (9-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) faces Katlyn Chookagian (18-4 MMA, 11-4 UFC) on Sept. 3 at the UFC’s debut in Paris, which takes place at Accor Arena.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking, but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Boxe Mag was first to report the news.

France’s Fiorot continued her surge up the flyweight rankings when she beat former title challenger Jennifer Maia by unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 33 in March. She proceeded to call Chookagian out and eventually got her wish on home soil.

Chookagian was booked just days after her split decision win over Amanda Ribas earlier this month at UFC on ESPN 36. The ex-flyweight title challenger, who recently inked a new UFC deal, has won her past four in a row, earning a “Fight of the Night” bonus in her win over Ribas.

With the addition, the UFC Paris lineup includes:
