A fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson was booked five times. Five … times.
But it never happened. Five times, five cancellations for arguably the greatest lightweight of all time, Nurmagomedov, who retired unbeaten, and Ferguson, who at one point had a 12-fight winning streak with nine bonuses before his current four-fight skid.
Could the rivalry still find a way to pit the two opposite each other, even though Nurmagomedov hung up his gloves? One theory is the pair could coach opposite each other on “The Ultimate Fighter” as a way to at least compete in some form.
