Official! UFC Drops HD Footage Of Strickland Vs. Du Plessis Brawl

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has released the official footage of Sean Strickland’s cageside brawl with Dricus du Plessis last night (Sat., Dec. 16, 2023) at UFC 296 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Strickland and du Plessis joined the party this week to help promote their upcoming matchup at UFC 297 on Jan. 20, 2024 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The two middleweights made an appearance during Friday’s “2024 Seasonal Press Conference” in Vegas (watch HERE). Strickland and du Plessis traded some personal insults on stage and apparently brought their feud with them to Saturday’s fights.

Nobody knows exactly why, but Strickland and du Plessis were seated just a few rows away from one another. So after a promo was cut for their UFC 297 title fight both men had clear access to do whatever they wanted. That’s when Strickland jumped rows of chairs to get at du Plessis. The UFC middleweight champion had the upper hand as du Plessis seemed to be hugging him more than anything, but both guys landed some punches throughout. It was pretty chaotic.

UFC quickly caught wind of the melee and took full advantage of the situation to help promote their next PPV card. A little while after the two middleweights brawled in the crowd UFC play-by-play announcer, Jon Anik, revealed that the promotion had “official” footage to show later in the night. UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, joked about the promotion teasing the release at the end of the broadcast.
