UFC adds Billy Quarantillo vs. Herbert Burns to July 17 event

Two of the UFC featherweight division’s up-and-comers are set to collide.

On July 17, Billy Quarantillo and Herbert Burns will look to bounce back from their first promotional losses when they face off July 17 at a UFC Fight Night event. The card doesn’t currently have a publicly known location or venue.

A person with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie after Quarantillo (15-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC) announced he had signed to fight Burns (11-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) in a recent Instagram post.

Quarantillo, 32, had a three-fight winning streak snapped when he lost a unanimous decision to Gavin Tucker at UFC 256 in December. He holds promotional victories over Kyle Nelson, Spike Carlyle, and Jacob Kilburn.

As for Burns, he was submitted by Daniel Pineda on the pay-per-view main card of UFC 252 in August. The defeat snapped a five-fight winning streak which included first-round stoppage victories over Evan Dunham and Nate Landwehr in the UFC.

With the addition, the UFC Fight Night lineup for July 17 includes:

  • Marion Reneau vs. Miesha Tate
  • Amir Albazi vs. Ode Osbourne
  • Sergey Morozov vs. Khalid Taha
  • Guram Kutateladze vs. Don Madge
  • Cameron Else vs. Aaron Phillips
  • Herbert Burns vs. Billy Quarantillo
