Khamzat Chimaev may be booked to throw down opposite Nate Diaz in the UFC 279 pay-per-view (PPV) main event on Sept. 10 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, but that’s not keeping Chimaev from other beefs. Since joining the roster, “Borz” has made it clear he can handle multitasking well, targeting two belts and two champions and just about every possible top contender.

Unsurprisingly, Chimaev didn’t appreciate Jorge Masvidal’s recent criticism. While speaking with MMAFighting, Masvidal said, “I don’t really think Khamzat is as good as they say he is. I haven’t seen anything that makes me a believer in this guy yet. They probably wanted to pair Diaz with someone, stylistically, that’s not the best when I think of f—king Khamzat, so they gave him a boring ass wrestler who is going to try and hug his legs, and sniff his crotch.”

Chimaev turned to Twitter to clap back, imploring Masvidal to wake up alongside a picture of a post-Kamaru Usman KO “Gamebred.”

Given Chimaev’s active fight schedule and UFC’s apparent desire to feed him stars, would anybody be surprised if Chimaev were eventually booked opposite Masvidal? It’s at least a more reasonable bout than the Diaz booking! At the moment, “Gamebred” remains unbooked, though he’s publicly agreed to fight Gilbert Burns next.
